Sobre mi

Soy Manuela Betancourt Marín, artista plástica formada en la Universidad Nacional de Colombia, sede Medellín, la ciudad donde nací, crecí y donde actualmente vivo. Mi trabajo artístico se alimenta de un profundo interés por la memoria y los recuerdos, explorando cómo estos elementos, a veces difusos como una veladura, se materializan en el presente y adquieren nuevas significaciones.

A lo largo de mi trayectoria, he experimentado con diversas técnicas de pintura y dibujo, siempre en la búsqueda de plasmar lo intangible: emociones, historias y vestigios que sobreviven al paso del tiempo. Una parte esencial de mi práctica está enfocada en escenas hiperrealistas de objetos cotidianos, cargados de simbolismo, que narran historias de personas, relaciones y momentos que han dejado una huella imborrable.

Mi obra se mueve entre lo evocador y lo concreto, entre la delicadeza de una transparencia y la fuerza de un objeto hiperrealista que interpela al espectador. A través de estos elementos, busco invitar a quien observa a conectar con sus propias memorias y reflexiones, creando un diálogo íntimo entre la obra y el espectador.

El arte, para mí, es un medio para traducir lo invisible y darle forma a lo que sentimos y recordamos. Es en esta búsqueda constante donde encuentro el motor que impulsa mi creación, transformando lo cotidiano en un espacio de conexión y significado.

I am Manuela Betancourt Marín, a plastic artist trained at the National University of Colombia, Medellín headquarters, the city where I was born, grew up and where I currently live. My artistic work is fueled by a deep interest in memory and memories, exploring how these elements, sometimes diffuse like a glaze, materialize in the present and acquire new meanings. Throughout my career, I have experimented with various painting and drawing techniques, always seeking to capture the intangible: emotions, stories and vestiges that survive the passage of time. An essential part of my practice is focused on hyperrealistic scenes of everyday objects, loaded with symbolism, that tell stories of people, relationships and moments that have left an indelible mark. My work moves between the evocative and the concrete, between the delicacy of transparency and the strength of a hyperrealistic object that challenges the viewer. Through these elements, I seek to invite those who observe to connect with their own memories and reflections, creating an intimate dialogue between the work and the viewer. Art, for me, is a means to translate the invisible and give shape to what we feel and remember. It is in this constant search where I find the engine that drives my creation, transforming the everyday into a space of connection and meaning.
